Magdalena MolinariAR
Magdalena Molinari is an Argentinian visual artist and architect. Combining electronics, programming, light, color, and video, her works explore the relationship between control systems, spatial devices, and materials to create walkable light installations generating experiences of pure sensation, omitting identification or association with the known.
In 2010 she graduated as an Architect from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism of the UBA. Since 2010 she studies electronics and programming in independent institutions and in a self-taught way. In 2016 she began the Master's Degree in Electronic Arts at the University of Tres de Febrero, of which she is currently a teacher. In 2017 she won a scholarship to do a residency at Sporobole, an art center in Quebec where she developed a digital video to light translation system.
She has exhibited his work at MACBA (Buenos Aires, 2016), Centro Cultural Recoleta (Buenos Aires, 2016), Muntref (Buenos Aires, 2017), Casa Nacional del Bicentenario (Buenos Aires, 2017), Festival Laboratorio (Buenos Aires, 2017), Sporobole (Quebec, 2018), Centro Cultural Rojas (Buenos Aires, 2018 y 2019), Centro Cultural San Martín (Buenos Aires, 2018), Universidad Torcuato Ditella (Buenos Aires, 2017 y 2018), Centro cultural Kirchner (Buenos Aires, 2019, among others. She has participated in festivals such as FASE (Buenos Aires, 2016), SONAR (Buenos Aires, 2017), MUTEK AR (2018 and 2019), Mutek Montreal (2021). She has given talks at the University of Palermo, the University of Fine Arts of Rosario and the University of Tres de Febrero. She has led workshops investigating the transition from digital image to light and is a professor in the Master's in Electronic Arts at UNTREF, in the Master's in Interactive Design at FADU and in the Bachelor's Degree in Design at Ditella.
In 2021 she developed a virtual reality project titled Sensitive Superpositions in collaboration with Canadian artist Erin Gee with the support of Amplify D.A.I., a platform to which she has belonged since 2019. She is currently finishing a Luminous LandArt project titled Photospheres.
