Hatis Noit is a Japanese vocal performer hailing from distant Shiretoko in Hokkaido who now resides in London. Her accomplished range is astonishingly self-taught, inspired by everything she could find from Gagaku — Japanese classical music — and operatic styles, Bulgarian and Gregorian chanting, to avant-garde and pop vocalists.

At the age of 16 in Nepal, she realised singing was her calling. She was instantly aware of the visceral power of the human voice; a primal and instinctive instrument that connects us to the very essence of humanity, nature and our universe. For Hatis Noit, music represents the same netherworld with its ability to move and transport us to the other side; the past, a memory, our subconscious.

After participating in a memorial and appreciation ceremony tailored to the withdrawal of the evacuation area in Fukushima 2017, Hatis Noit collaborated with a visual artist Nobumichi Asai on a project titled "Inori (prayer)" which they premiered live at MUTEK Japan in Tokyo. 2018 marked the release of her first enigmatic EP Illogical Dance on Erased Tapes. It features Matmos and creates unique song-worlds with transcendent vocal interpretations that at once deconstruct and recombine Western Classical, Japanese folk and nature's own ambience atmosphere.

She's performed solo shows and appeared at various festivals across Europe, including at the Milan Fashion Week 2018, David Lynch's Manchester International Festival, and London show with the London Contemporary Orchestra. Hatis Noit has collaborated with Kevin Richard Martin aka The Bug, the NYX Electronic Drone Choir, Vincent Moon, and appeared on recordings by fellow Masayoshi Fujita as well as Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk.

Following her contribution of a song "Fernweh" to the Erased Tapes compilation Music for kō, she released her first full-length album, Aura, in June 2022 to much critically acclaim.

Yuma Kishi is an acclaimed Japanese contemporary artist using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create data-driven digital works and sculptures. Exhibited widely in Japan, his works have been featured by major brands such as Nike and publications such as Vogue. Borrowing motifs and symbols from the canons of both Western and Asian art history, his paintings distort our perceptions of the history of aesthetics. Using AI technology, his works evoke a sense of momentary dislocation in the viewer’s awareness of the self, creating a liminal space in between the here and now.
